I actually have things to say today, however random and pointless. I doubt anyone will get to view them for a long while yet anyway.. but here goes..
Got a mole removed yesterday (well, the day before i guess). After a few jabs of local anaesthetic, the doctor then sawed it off, and then cauterised it. The smell of burning flesh is not nice, I must say, especially when it's yours. Of course, it didn't start hurting until well into the afternoon. And now I can't lie on my right hand side, and it's uncomfortable to walk lots, or curl up my legs. And sleeping funny last night means my back hurts too. :(
As one part of the flat saga gets fixed, another starts. We think the window in the front door is fine now, but we have a new neighbour instead. The girl in flat 3 moved out yesterday, and someone new moved in this evening. What a racket. Not only did he make sure to bang every door shut so loud that the walls shook, but he also had his TV up so loud that I could virtually hear it word for word whlie trying to watch my own TV. Gah!
The moral of this story, is to never rent, or if you rent get either a) a house on it's own, or b) somewhere so expensive you can afford to be picky.
It's Rain's birthday party on Saturday, and I'm planning to dress up as Buffy. Of course, this is a simple costume and means I can wear normal clothers. Except for the stakes that is. The stakes are posing a little bit of a problem. Next stop, Homebase.
I can't believe that upgrading from the old Gnome to Ximian Gnome 1.4 is such a hassle. The installer works fine over a proxy, but dependencies aren't so easy to resolve.. and the whole point of upgrading is to solve dependency problems. So I've resorted to fetching certain rpm's from redhat's own ftp site. Hopefully tomorrow Ximian may actually like me. Oh, and don't ever ask for the devel packages.. at least not if you only have a dial-up.. if you do it'll take forever to download, even at the best possible download speeds.
